MOBA Street of Dreams

This particular project was brought to us by a housing contractor who needed the project finished in under two months and was slated to compete in the (MOBA) Metro Omaha Builder’s Association’s ‘best house’ competition. The property called for retaining walls to separate the landscape and increase the useable space for a pool & patio in the backyard and the future possibility for a circle drive in the front yard. We chose limestone to coincide with the stone and muted browns throughout both the interior and exterior of the home.

As the project progressed, I learned a lot about the significance of having everybody on the same page. Obstacles we faced were largely due to the other contractors, which caused lapsed timelines, limited accessibility, scope changes, and a general confusion of information. The home ended up getting first place, and many of the voters mentioned the attractiveness of the exterior landscape which was very rewarding.
