Beach House Addition
This property serves as a summer-home for clients who decided to construct an addition mainly for storage, entertainment and sleeping arrangements for all of their grandchildren. The clients wanted it to be safe, functional, and to adhere to the existing aesthetic of the property.
In order to satisfy their desires for the property, we devised a two-tier retaining wall to wrap around the entire addition and connect to what was existing. The first tier consists of a plant bed pulling choices from the already established landscape. The second tier employs a large rock bed barrier alongside a generous walkway spanning from the single garage to the original home. We used the same groundcover materials, boulders, retaining wall blocks, and even ended up replacing the entirety of their existing patio to eliminate any perceived transition.
