Country Club Historic District

This project took place in the Country Club Historic District of Omaha and has been on the register of National Historic Places since 2004. The architecture features mainly single-family Tudor revivals that feature a lot of rich geometry and texture. The landscapes within the area are well kept, yet, many need updating. My client was under the same impression and decided to restore his beautiful home’s foreground.

The area exhibited mostly brick and stone with painted wood accents and the landscapes full of yews, boxwoods, hostas and ivy. The client, however, was in love with color and wanted something vibrant to make the corner lot ‘pop’. The challenge with this project was finding the correct plant selections that were right for the space, and right for his taste; to venture far enough to stand out while paying homage to what was there before, as well as the existing urban landscape.
